Barry first went into the Financial Services industry when he left Leeds
University in the early 1970s, working initially for an insurance company
before moving into broking a couple of years later. Following a long period
working for a high street broker in Manchester as Life and Pensions Director,
he decided to set up on his own in 1990. Although he started from home,
Barry soon had to move the growing business into premises on Chorley Old
Road, Bolton where we have remained ever since. The business expanded by building
on personal contacts and developing professional connections with local
accountants and solicitors. Always keen to provide the highest quality
advice to his clients, Barry has continued to take professional examinations
and is now one of the most highly qualified and respected Independent
Financial Advisers in the North West, being amongst the first advisers
in the area to achieve the status of Chartered Financial Planner in 2005.
Originally from Burton-on-Trent, Barry has lived in Bolton since 1980
where he and his wife Sue, his partner in the business, have brought up
four children. The eldest, Andrew, joined the company in 2005 as an Adviser.
A former rugby and cricket player, in his spare time Barry enjoys playing
golf, keeps fit at the gym and is a keen supporter of both Blackburn Rovers
and Sale Rugby. |
